Police in Coralville, Iowa, got a call about a stabbing. When they got to the house, they found Amber Nicole Martin had been stabbed. Doctors tried to help her, but she died at the scene.
Amber, who was 41, worked at the University of Iowa Health Care as a supervisor in the lab. Her husband, James Fuller Martin, who is 47, has been arrested and charged with her murder.
According to reports, James told police that he stabbed Amber at their home. He was arrested right then and there.
Reports say that James had been planning to kill Amber. He allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked her as she was leaving a room. She was stabbed many times.
Amber’s boss, Connie Floerchinger, said that Amber was a great leader and everyone on the team liked her. She loved her job and was excited about her future there.
Before working at the University of Iowa, Amber worked at Quincy Medical Group. James also worked there.
A coworker from Quincy Medical Group, Ann Ostermiller, said that Amber was a wonderful person and that James was more quiet. She said that they seemed like a loving couple, and she can’t understand what happened to change things.
