Government Shutdown Expected to End Soon, Says Economic Council Director
Kevin Hassett, the Director of the National Economic Council, has expressed confidence that the current government shutdown could be resolved by the end of this week. On Monday, he pointed out that it would not look good for Democrats to reopen the government before the nationwide “No Kings” protests that took place over the weekend.
Hassett highlighted that there are indications from inside sources that a resolution is on the horizon, which would allow the government to resume its operations. He emphasized the need for moderate Democrats to step up their efforts or the administration may have to take firmer actions to prompt negotiations.
This marks the third government shutdown instigated by Democrats during President Trump’s term. Hassett suggested that if Democrats seek to settle political disputes, they should do so through standard processes.
“The moderate Democrats will step forward and help us open the government, allowing us to negotiate policies they wish to discuss through conventional means,” he stated.
The nation watches closely as the implications of the shutdown unfold, hoping for a swift re-opening of government functioning.
