American Skier Alex Hall Secures Silver at Winter Olympics
Livigno, Italy – American skier Alex Hall earned a silver medal in the men’s freeski slopestyle event at the Winter Olympics. The event, held Tuesday, saw Hall adding to the United States’ medal count.
Hall, who previously won a gold medal at the Beijing Games, faced tough competition. The United States has historically performed well in men’s slopestyle since its introduction to the Olympics in 2014.
Hall’s first run didn’t go as planned, with a score of 52.65. However, he improved significantly in the second run, earning a score of 85.75. During his third run, Hall slipped, preventing him from surpassing his second-run score. Despite this, his score of 85.75 was enough to secure the silver medal.
Norway’s Birk Ruud won the gold medal with a score of 86.28, achieved during his first run. New Zealand’s Luca Harrington delivered a near-perfect third run, earning the bronze medal.
Hall’s silver marks the second medal for Team USA on Tuesday, with Ben Ogden previously winning silver in cross-country skiing.
This is Hall’s second Olympic medal. He previously won a bronze medal at the World Championships in 2025.
