A tragic incident has unfolded in Washington state involving the death of an 82-year-old woman, Marcia Norman, whose body was discovered hidden in a shed, leading to the arrest of her handyman, Jeffrey Zizz.
Marcia was reported missing on April 4 from her home in Tenino, Washington. Just a day later, authorities found her body bound and showing signs of severe torture in a shed in Olympia.
Zizz, 47, is now facing murder charges in connection with her death. He is thought to be the last person to see Marcia alive after they had dinner together on April 1. When authorities were called to investigate her disappearance, they found her home in suspicious conditions, which led them to designate Zizz as a person of interest.
As investigations continued, officials revealed disturbing details regarding the circumstances of Marcia’s death. The Thurston County Coroner stated it was the worst case he had ever seen, explaining that her death was not instantaneous and occurred hours after she sustained injuries. Reports indicate that Marcia was tortured using a nail gun and was bound with Velcro straps.
Authorities have stated that Marcia suffered blunt force trauma and other penetrating injuries, particularly to her head and torso. Zizz was eventually arrested on a probation violation in Missoula, Montana. During a search of his home, investigators found a letter in which he allegedly detailed a plan for a sexual assault, raising eerie parallels to Marcia’s case.
Prior to her murder, there were troubling incidents where Marcia reportedly found Zizz at the foot of her bed in the middle of the night. She expressed her discomfort, demanding he keep professional boundaries if he were to continue his work for her.
Marcia’s family has shared heartfelt tributes, remembering her as a vibrant person with hopes for the future. Jeffrey Zizz has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, and unlawful disposal of human remains. Details about his legal representation or plea have not yet been disclosed.
