Wynonna Judd’s Daughter Accuses Former Stepfather of Abuse
Grace Kelley, daughter of country singer Wynonna Judd, has come forward with serious allegations against her former stepfather, D. R. Roach. In a recent interview, Kelley claimed that Roach sexually abused her when she was just 10 years old. She also stated that her mother was aware of the situation and chose to hide it instead of seeking help.
Grace Kelley, now 29, spoke about her experiences during an interview in July. Wynonna Judd was married to D. R. Roach from 2003 until their divorce in 2007, shortly after his arrest for sexual battery against a minor. At the time, the identity of the victim was not disclosed.
Kelley recounted how her family sought counseling, but when the extent of the abuse was revealed, it led to Roach’s arrest. She expressed feelings of betrayal, saying her mother had the means to protect her yet failed to do so. “My mom is wealthy enough to have swept my situation under the rug,” Kelley remarked.
In the wake of the accusations, a representative for Wynonna Judd has not yet responded to requests for comments on the matter.
Currently, Judd is caring for Kelley’s daughter, Kaliyah, and is also a mother to her son Elijah. Grace Kelley has had various legal challenges over the years but is now reportedly sober and focusing on her well-being in Charlottesville, Virginia. She is also working on a memoir detailing her life experiences.
Kelley’s situation has been complicated, and she described her upbringing as tumultuous, having spent time in multiple facilities during her teenage years. She believes it is finally time to share her story and hopes it will help her heal.
Wynonna Judd has previously spoken about the impact of her ex-husband’s actions on their family, sharing her experiences in interviews and maintaining that protecting her children was her priority during that difficult time.
