A Republican group in Northern California got a scary letter that called for violence against ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents. The letter, sent to the Sonoma County Republican Party, talked about using homemade bombs to harm the agents.
The letter, which was 12 pages long, made fun of ICE agents. It didn’t have a name or return address. The local Republican group said the letter didn’t mention Sonoma County.
The letter said that no one from any party was involved in writing or sending it. It compared the effort to the January 6th events in Washington, D.C.
The letter mentioned the recent shooting death of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. The Department of Homeland Security said the agent shot in self-defense after Good tried to hit him with her car.
The letter claimed that everyone’s life is at risk because of ICE agents. It also accused ICE of waging a “foreign invasion-style war” on people.
The letter urged violence against ICE agents, saying they should “feel real war.” It criticized Republican lawmakers for supporting the Trump administration’s actions on illegal immigration.
The letter said that ICE agents and their supporters should be targeted with bombs, vehicles, snipers, and toxic chemicals.
The letter also mentioned some people by name, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, White House staff member Stephen Miller, and Representative Ilhan Omar, who has criticized ICE.
The letter included instructions on how to make a chemical bomb and had pictures of ICE agents doing their jobs.
The Sonoma County GOP told the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department about the letter.
Earlier this month, DHS said that assaults on ICE agents have gone up by 1,300%, and death threats have increased by 8,000%.
