A Missouri man and his girlfriend are in trouble with the law after a little girl was found dead in a motel room. The sad discovery was made just before Christmas.
Kyle Galloway and Deanna Hankins are facing serious charges. These include child abuse and neglect, putting a child in danger, and having illegal drugs.
The girl, Novaleigh Galloway, was only 3 years old. Family members have identified her. She was found at the Classic Motel in Higginsville.
Police say the girl had bruises and marks on her body. They believe she may have been abused before she died.
Galloway reportedly told police that he and Hankins had tied up the girl because she was acting out.
He also said that Hankins had been too rough when disciplining the child. Galloway admitted to hitting the girl himself.
Hankins told police that Galloway got angry one night and kicked the girl in the head because she wouldn’t go to sleep.
After the kick, Galloway allegedly said it might have been too hard. Hankins later found the girl not breathing and called for help.
A fundraiser has been started to help the family with funeral costs. The little girl is remembered as a happy and loving child.
Police also found drugs and items used for drugs in the motel room. It’s not clear if Galloway and Hankins have lawyers yet.
