ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia Bulldogs celebrated a significant achievement after securing their ninth victory of the season. They have officially earned a spot in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championship Game, which will take place on December 7 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
The Bulldogs clinched their place in the game following losses by both Alabama and Texas A&M on Saturday. While their opponent for the championship has yet to be determined, Georgia is looking strong. The team has a rich history, having won 14 SEC titles since 1942, although they hold a record of 4-7 in SEC Championship Games. Their most recent victory in this matchup came in 2022.
Kickoff for the SEC Championship Game is scheduled for 4 p.m. This will mark Georgia’s second appearance at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium this season, as they began their year with an impressive 34-3 win against then No. 14 Clemson.
Next up, Georgia will face off against Georgia Tech on Friday, November 29, with the regular season finale set to be broadcast on ABC at 7:45 p.m.
