A man from Georgia has been given a 20-year prison sentence after admitting to charges related to a bomb incident at a woman’s home. The case, which was described by officials as a plan to harm the homeowner, involved unsettling acts meant to threaten and intimidate her.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia, the man, Stephen Glosser, aged 38 and from Chatham County, was found guilty of stalking and using explosives for a felony crime. In addition to his prison time, he must pay over $500,000 in restitution to his victims and will also serve three years under supervised release after he finishes his sentence.
Glosser was arrested following an explosion that occurred at a home in Richmond Hill, Georgia, in January 2023. He allegedly plotted various ways to terrorize the woman, including shooting arrows at her front door, releasing a python to threaten her daughter, and even sending rats and dog feces to her home.
Co-conspirator Caleb Kinsey, who was arrested on unrelated charges in Louisiana, is also facing prosecution in connection with this case.
Acting U.S. Attorney Tara Lyons spoke about the severity of the case, expressing relief that no one lost their life due to these actions. The ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives) and local law enforcement worked together on this case, highlighting their commitment to combatting violent crime.
The investigation revealed that Glosser had researched the woman’s address and had planned carefully before constructing the explosive device. The incident happened the day after she moved in with her child, but fortunately, both escaped unharmed.
Authorities emphasized the danger posed by criminals who resort to violence and expressed gratitude for the successful efforts of the investigative teams in bringing Glosser to justice. They reiterated their dedication to keeping the community safe from such threats.
