Israeli Forces Respond to Hamas Violations, Targeting Gaza
Deir al-Balah, Gaza Strip – Recent overnight actions by the Israeli military in Gaza have resulted in reported casualties, including civilians, according to local hospital officials. These events follow Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s directive for strong military action in Gaza, citing Hamas’s breach of the recent ceasefire agreement.
The decision to act came after reports of attacks on Israeli forces in southern Gaza. Furthermore, Hamas transferred what Israel identified as partial remains of a hostage.
Hospital reports indicate fatalities across Gaza. The Aqsa Hospital reported receiving multiple bodies, including women and children, following Israeli actions. Similarly, the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis and the Al-Awda Hospital also reported receiving bodies.
A U.S. official had previously acknowledged the possibility of minor conflict.
