A Georgia judge has ordered the release of documents tied to an FBI search of a Fulton County building where 2020 election ballots were kept. This could reveal more about the government’s investigation.
Judge J.P. Boulee, appointed by President Donald Trump, has instructed the government to release the documents by Tuesday. These documents include the search warrant and related papers, with some names of people not involved with the government possibly removed.
The FBI’s search happened on January 28 at the main election storage place in Fulton County. Agents were looking for things like ballots, machine tapes, and voter records from the 2020 election.
Fulton County officials have asked for the return of about 656 boxes of the original 2020 election papers that the FBI took.
Fulton County, which usually votes Democrat, has been watched closely since President Trump lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden. Although Biden won Georgia, Trump has said that voter fraud caused his loss in the state. The release of these documents may offer more clarity.
