A woman in Illinois, Ashley Stewart, was found dead in her home, and her friend is now sharing her memories of her. Police say Ashley, who was 41 and a mother of six, was killed on January 27th.
Ashley’s husband told the police he saw someone chasing his wife into their garage on a security camera. When police arrived, they found Ashley and she had already passed away.
Her friend, Robin Ross, spoke about Ashley, saying she was a wonderful mother and wife. Robin described Ashley as “a beacon of light.”
A fundraising page has been set up to help Ashley’s family. The page says that her death has left a big hole in the hearts of those who loved her. It also mentions that Ashley’s husband, Adam, is now taking care of their young son and Ashley’s other children.
Police say that they arrived at Ashley’s home around 1 p.m. and found her. Her husband had called to report that he saw someone, believed to be Ashley’s ex-husband, chasing her.
Shortly after, police found the suspect driving nearby and arrested him.
The suspect was identified as Ryan Dodd, 44. Police believe that Ryan followed Ashley into her home and attacked her with a knife.
The coroner’s office said that Ashley had several injuries from a sharp object.
Police have said that this was an isolated incident and that the public is not in danger. They also asked people who live nearby to check their security cameras for any footage of Ryan Dodd from that day.
Ryan Dodd has been charged with murder and other crimes. He is currently in jail.
