Frank Ferrer, the former drummer of the legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses, has opened up about his recent departure from the group. Following the band’s announcement of his exit, Ferrer shared his thoughts on social media on March 20.
In his post, Ferrer expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received from fans and friends. He said, “The love I have felt from the incredible fans of Guns N’ Roses and my peers over the past 24 hours has been tremendous. I will always have immense gratitude and love for Axl and the band, while also feeling disappointed that this chapter came to an end.”
Ferrer, who spent 19 years with the band, reflected on the countless memories and experiences he gained during his time. He extended his thanks to the management, crew, and fans for the moments he will cherish forever, mentioning, “I hope I see you all again soon!”
Taking over Ferrer’s position is Isaac Carpenter, who has previously drummed for bands like Loudermilk and Gosling. Ferrer originally joined Guns N’ Roses in 2006, replacing Bryan “Brain” Mantia, and was one of several drummers who have played with the group over the years.
On March 19, Guns N’ Roses made an official statement about Ferrer’s “amicable exit,” thanking him for his friendship and contributions over nearly two decades. The band noted that Ferrer had become a vital part of their rhythm section during tours, including their recent shows featuring the iconic trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan.
As Guns N’ Roses prepares for their upcoming international tour, fans are eager to see how the new lineup will perform. The tour, titled “Because What You Want & Want You Get Are Two Completely Different Things,” kicks off on May 10. The band continues to showcase their enduring legacy in rock music, even as it undergoes changes.
