A former UFC fighter and U.S. Army Green Beret, Tim Kennedy, expressed his shock after discovering that his reality TV show partner was involved in a tragic incident in Las Vegas. The incident was linked to the explosion of a rented Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel on New Year’s Day.
Kennedy shared his feelings on Instagram, revealing that he and Matthew Livelsberger, who appeared on the show “Ultimate Soldier Challenge” in 2013, knew each other as teammates. Livelsberger, a highly decorated special forces operator, is believed to be responsible for the explosion that injured seven people. Authorities suspect he died by suicide shortly before the incident.
In his post, Kennedy reminisced about their time on the show, where they competed as a duo of Green Berets against commandos from Norway. They won the challenge, but Kennedy said he was stunned upon seeing Livelsberger’s photo on the news connected to the attack.
Kennedy expressed deep sadness and confusion, stating that he wants answers to understand this tragic turn of events. Livelsberger was a distinguished soldier, recognized with multiple awards, including the Bronze Star. As reported, he was on military leave from Germany, spending time with his family at the time of the incident.
Furthermore, it was noted that Livelsberger had reached out for mental health support from military services in the past. The situation has raised concerns about the well-being of veterans and the challenges they face.
