A man from Florida has been arrested after allegedly running over a woman he met on a dating app when she refused his unusual request to smell her feet.
Elmoncy Sercle was taken into custody after he reportedly fled the hotel in Aventura, Florida, where the incident occurred. According to police reports, the woman, a foot model, met Sercle for the first time on August 24.
Once inside the hotel room, Sercle allegedly asked to smell her feet and to buy her used sneakers. The woman expressed her discomfort with the request, saying, “When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet.”
She indicated that she would charge him $1,000 for the sneakers, which she said were in her car. When she went to the bathroom, Sercle quickly left the room. Concerned that he had taken something of hers, she chased after him to the parking garage.
There, he reportedly drove past her in a red SUV and then turned the vehicle around, running her over, as per investigators. The woman sustained bruises and abrasions on her arms and chest.
Sercle allegedly fled the scene but was arrested days later when he attempted to check into the same hotel. Authorities believe he may be connected to other similar attacks, although there are no public records of charges against him for those incidents.
He is currently facing charges of aggravated battery related to this case and has pleaded not guilty.
