Flyers Referencing Charlie Kirk’s Death Found at Georgetown University
Washington, D.C. – In the wake of the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, controversial flyers have appeared on the campus of Georgetown University. The flyers, posted by a group calling itself the John Brown Gun Club, reference Kirk’s death with a slogan allegedly used by his accused murderer.
The flyers display a red background and the message, “Hey fascist! Catch!” with a QR code. The phrase is similar to one allegedly written on a shell casing by Tyler Robinson, the man accused of murdering Kirk. The flyer has been interpreted by some as condoning the violence against conservatives.
Shae McInnis, a student at Georgetown and treasurer of the College Republicans, expressed concern over the message, stating that it felt like a direct threat to conservatives on campus. She noted that the flyers suggest some students would rather see conservatives dead than engage in open debate.
The John Brown Gun Club, named after the historical figure known for his radical abolitionist views, is described by the Center for Counter Extremism as a “far-left group.” Members have been known to appear armed at left-wing events.
University officials have stated that they are aware of the flyers and have removed them. They are currently investigating the incident and working to ensure the safety of the campus community.
This incident raises concerns about the growing polarization of political discourse and the increasing hostility directed towards conservative voices on college campuses.
