A 70-year-old man from Florida is in legal hot water after allegedly urinating on food items worth over $10,000 at a Sam’s Club. Patrick Francis Mitchell was arrested on June 4 and is facing charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct due to the incident.
According to reports, on May 30 at around 9:49 a.m., Mitchell was seen urinating in one of the aisles at the Sam’s Club located in Lady Lake, near Orlando. A female shopper captured photos of the act and reported it to the store’s management.
Security footage shows Mitchell walking up to pallets and engaging in behavior suggesting he was urinating. He also spent about 10 minutes in the snack section and even sat on some patio furniture before finally purchasing his items and leaving the store.
Store managers later confirmed that urine was found on two pallets containing a total of 188 cans of Vienna sausage and 345 cans of Spam, leading to a loss of approximately $10,584 in goods.
Authorities were able to identify Mitchell using his Sam’s Club membership details. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to appear in court again on June 30.
As of now, no comments have been received from the Lady Lake Police Department or Mitchell’s attorney.
