Mia Sara Makes Rare Public Appearance After 14-Year Hiatus
Mia Sara, the actress famously known for her role as Sloane Peterson in "Ferris Bueller’s Day Off," has stepped back into the spotlight with a red carpet appearance after a 14-year break from film. At 57, she made her latest appearance at the screening of "The Life of Chuck," an adaptation of Stephen King’s novella.
Sara returns to the big screen at the urging of acclaimed director Mike Flanagan, known for works like "The Haunting of Hill House". She mentioned that his Netflix series "Midnight Mass" was among her all-time favorites. Her decision to act again was inspired by her connection with Flanagan’s wife, actress Kate Siegel, who inquired about her acting future.
When asked if she’d consider returning to acting, Sara responded with a cheerful acceptance, saying she’d act if offered a role.
The film, "The Life of Chuck," is described as a unique blend of genres, focusing on the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz. It’s set to star various well-known actors, including Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill.
Sara’s last major film role was in 2011’s "Dorothy and the Witches of Oz." Since then, she has been dedicated to family life, enjoying activities like horseback riding and cooking at her scenic farmhouse in England.
While reflecting on the excitement surrounding her return, Sara expressed a mix of gratitude and surprise. "It’s unexpected," she said. She is open to future projects as long as it aligns with her passion for working with talented directors like Flanagan.
"The Life of Chuck" is set to hit limited theaters soon and will be available nationwide shortly after.
