Milan – At the recent Milan Fashion Week, designer Maximilian Davis unveiled a striking co-ed collection for Ferragamo that prioritizes comfort and movement for the upcoming winter season.
Drawing inspiration from the artistry of the late German dancer Pina Bausch, Davis showcased a collection that features soft cashmere crafted into form-fitting, sheer long dresses and bodysuit-and-legging combinations, notably complemented by playful furry flip flops.
The collection included jackets adorned with shearling fur and sheer dresses designed for an engaging play between concealment and revelation. A standout piece was a black faux fur jacket paired with glossy black leather bags worn at the hip. The thoughtful combination of leather and satin also introduced new silhouettes in skirts and blouses.
In terms of menswear, the looks leaned towards everyday practicality, presenting monochromatic cashmere suits, argyle sweaters coupled with leather trousers, and stylish weekend bags, alongside a fun fur-lined bomber jacket.
The color palette was primarily neutral, accented by vibrant touches of Ferragamo red seen in items like gloves and almond-toe pumps. This signature red was especially prominent in a feathery dress that came with a matching handbag and in a sheer design featuring trailing poppies. Davis emphasized the importance of red, stating, “Red is Ferragamo. It was there before I joined, and I wanted to make it more vibrant.”
Overall, the collection emphasizes a mix of classic elegance and modern flair, ensuring that Ferragamo remains a significant player in the fashion world.
