A tragic incident occurred on Easter Sunday in New Jersey, where a 54-year-old man named Louis Serbeck lost his life after being violently attacked.
According to local authorities, Serbeck was on his way to the hospital following a brutal confrontation that also involved his teenage daughter. The Columbia County Prosecutor’s office reported that a 55-year-old man named Eric Hannah and a 17-year-old boy, referred to only as J.H., have been arrested. They face charges including homicide and weapon offenses.
The violence reportedly began a day earlier when J.H. allegedly assaulted Serbeck’s daughter. This prompted Serbeck and his daughter to confront Hannah on April 20. When they arrived, J.H. answered the door, and soon the situation escalated into a physical altercation.
It’s alleged that J.H. struck Serbeck multiple times with a metal baseball bat while Hannah also joined the fray, hitting Serbeck with a metal flashlight. The confrontation left J.H. with facial injuries, and he is accused of also attacking Serbeck’s daughter.
Emergency services arrived quickly at the scene, and Serbeck was taken to a local hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away while being transported to another facility.
In the wake of this tragic event, a GoFundMe page has been set up to assist with the funeral costs for Serbeck’s two surviving daughters. The fundraiser has already surpassed its initial goal of $10,000. Friends and family describe Serbeck as a caring, protective, and warm-hearted individual who will be deeply missed.
