Former NFL player Robert Quinn was arrested in South Carolina on January 10 after being involved in a hit-and-run accident involving several vehicles.
The 34-year-old, who has played for teams such as the Los Angeles Rams, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles over his 11-year career, was taken into custody by the North Charleston Police Department. He faces charges of reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident that caused property damage. He was released later that same day.
According to a report from the police, Quinn’s vehicle allegedly collided with a Honda Element, which then hit a Ford F-150, causing it to collide with a Chrysler 300.
Authorities responded to the scene of the crash, which was reported at B&N Auto Service on Dorchester Road, around 2 a.m. local time. The North Charleston Fire Department indicated that Quinn might have attempted to leave the scene. Officers later found him in the passenger seat of a Dodge Challenger, where the driver stated that Quinn had called her for a pickup after leaving a club earlier that night.
Witnesses reported that Quinn had injuries on his head and hands resembling those from a car crash. Police noted that he was not cooperating and appeared to be slurring his words.
Officers determined that a maroon Ford F-150 was the vehicle that caused the initial collision. This truck was registered in Quinn’s name.
After examining surveillance footage, police concluded that Quinn’s vehicle was observed traveling on Dorchester Road shortly before the crash. The collision itself could be heard on the footage, but was not visible due to the camera’s position.
In August 2023, Quinn faced charges related to another multi-vehicle traffic incident. During his NFL career, he was drafted 14th overall by the Rams in 2011 and has played for five different teams, with his last stint being with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.
