Justice Department Works Through Holidays to Release Epstein Files
Washington D.C. – Justice Department officials are working hard through the holiday season to get the Epstein files ready for the public. These files relate to the case of Jeffrey Epstein, a man who committed terrible crimes.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said that lawyers from different parts of the Justice Department and the FBI are working non-stop, even on Christmas and New Year’s Day. Their goal is to go through all the documents and remove any information that could identify the victims, as required by law.
Blanche explained that protecting victims is very important, and that takes time. However, he promised that the release of these materials will not be stopped.
The release of these documents was supposed to happen earlier, but the Justice Department needed more time to make sure they were following the rules to protect victims.
President Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which says the Justice Department has to release these files. But the law also says they must keep secret any information that could hurt victims or national security.
The Justice Department recently received over a million more pages of documents about Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Officials say it will take weeks to go through everything. The Justice Department has promised to release the files as they are ready. The focus remains on making sure justice is served and victims are protected.
