All-Pro linebacker Zack Baun is set to continue his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Super Bowl champions confirmed on Wednesday that they have reached a three-year contract with Baun, which will keep him with the team until the 2027 season. According to a knowledgeable source, the deal is valued at $51 million, with $34 million of that guaranteed.
Baun, who previously played primarily on special teams for the New Orleans Saints, made a significant impact last season as part of defensive coordinator Vic Fangio’s system in Philadelphia. He recorded an impressive 151 tackles, along with 3.5 sacks and one interception during the regular season. Notably, he also intercepted a pass from Patrick Mahomes in the Eagles’ 40-22 Super Bowl victory last month.
His performance earned him recognition, as he finished fifth in the voting for the AP Defensive Player of the Year award, receiving two first-place votes. While Baun had the chance to explore free agency next week, he chose to stay in Philadelphia, opting for stability with the championship team.
