Dylan Efron, the younger brother of actor Zac Efron, recently shared an incredible story of bravery during an episode of the podcast “Brooke & Connor Make a Podcast.” While enjoying his first visit to South Beach in Miami, Dylan found himself in a situation that required quick thinking and action.
He recalled arriving at the beach and noticing a chaotic scene with people yelling for help in the water. Without hesitation, Dylan sprung into action. He observed several girls struggling in the waves, and the lack of lifeguards on duty concerned him.
Dylan, along with his friend Brandon and actor Sam Asghari, ran into the water to assist those in danger. He described the scene as intense, with girls shouting for help and their hands in the air. He quickly swam out to rescue the closest girl, returning to help another one, all while reassuring them that they were safe.
After successfully bringing the last girl to safety, Dylan made sure she was calm before leaving her with others on shore. Despite the chaos, he found it surreal that news of his rescue spread so quickly, dubbing his experience “weird” but also unforgettable.
Wood, one of the podcast hosts, humorously noted how the media picked up the story despite Dylan’s humble approach of simply walking away after the rescue. Dylan humorously remarked on how strange it was to witness such an event during his first visit to Miami, joking about how different it felt.
In sharing his experience, Dylan also has a light-hearted approach to his social media presence, recognizing both the fun and the attention it attracts. His recent beach adventure certainly gave him a real-life “Baywatch” moment and highlighted the importance of stepping up in a crisis.
