A tragic car accident involving a Tesla Cybertruck in Piedmont, California, has resulted in the deaths of three college students. The incident occurred on November 27 and was attributed to both speeding and driving under the influence of drugs, according to local authorities.
The driver, identified as 19-year-old Soren Dixon, lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a tree. Unfortunately, Dixon and two of his passengers, Jack Nelson, 20, and Krysta Tsukahara, 19, lost their lives in the accident. A fourth passenger was injured but survived.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has stated that the crash was caused by a mix of drug impairment and excessive speed. Reports indicated that Dixon failed to slow down while navigating a curved intersection, ultimately veering off the road and crashing into various structures before coming to a stop.
Authorities have ruled the deaths to be accidental. A toxicology report revealed that Dixon had cocaine in his system and a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash. Both Nelson and Tsukahara were also found to have similar substances in their systems.
All three victims were graduates of Piedmont High School and were pursuing their college education when this tragic event occurred.
