Dolly Parton Shares Deep Spiritual Beliefs
Country music icon Dolly Parton has always prioritized her faith. In a recent conversation with celebrity interviewer Lawrence Grobel, she opened up about her spiritual journey and the importance of her beliefs.
Grobel, who has a long history of interviewing celebrities, has shared insights from his diary entries about his interactions with Parton. They first met in 1978, and in a notable discussion from 1981, Grobel mentioned he was offered an opportunity to interview the infamous Charles Manson. He sought Parton’s thoughts on this decision.
Parton was clear in her feelings, saying, “I think he’d steal your soul.” She expressed her deep unease about Manson, stating, “I can’t even look at a picture of him.” This reflects her firm belief that even a brief connection with someone like Manson could negatively impact a person’s spirit. Parton added that any attention from such an interview would ultimately benefit Manson, not Grobel.
She emphasized the potential dangers of engaging with dark forces, telling Grobel it could change how she viewed him. “The darkness is something not to get involved with,” she warned, ultimately leading him to decline the interview.
Dolly Parton has always viewed her faith as a guiding light in her life. In her own words, she believes that with God, all things are possible. She regularly prays for the right people to be in her life and for the wrong ones to be removed. “My spirituality has been a great force to keep me going all these years,” she shared in a previous interview.
In a recent episode of Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Parton expressed her commitment to sharing her faith, despite some advising her against it. She firmly stated, “I’m not telling you what to do. I’m just sharing what makes me work.”
Parton’s approach is a testament to her belief in the power of faith, showing how it has shaped her career and personal life. She hopes that her openness about her spirituality can shine a light on others as well.
