An Alaska doctor, Ryan McDonough, was found dead in his home after it burned down. This happened just days after he was arrested for having child sex abuse material.
Police went to McDonough’s house in Wasilla on December 13 after getting a call about a fire. When they got there, the house was completely on fire.
At first, police said that McDonough, who was 46, was missing. They later found his body inside the burned house. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
Before the fire, on December 11, McDonough was arrested as part of an investigation into child sex abuse material. He was charged with having 10 counts of this material.
McDonough used to work as a heart doctor at a local medical center. He was also appointed to the state’s medical board but had resigned a few months earlier. After his arrest, the hospital fired him. His wife had paid his $50,000 bail.
