Djokovic Swaps Racket for Bicycle in Paris Adventure
PARIS — Novak Djokovic took a break from tennis and enjoyed a bicycle ride through the streets of Paris, trading the clay courts of the French Open for a leisurely trip around the iconic Arc de Triomphe. This outing came after his victory in the second round of the tournament against Corentin Moutet.
"I’ve cycled in Paris before, but it had been a while," Djokovic shared after his match. The Roland-Garros tournament even gifted him a bicycle, which he used for this fun evening excursion.
Just a day before his match, Djokovic was seen touring the beautiful city, taking in the sights while fitting in some exercise. Dressed in a dark blue track suit and a securely fastened helmet for safety, the 38-year-old Serbian star pedaled through the bustling roundabout at the Champs-Élysées.
Although the area is known for heavy traffic, Djokovic seemed quite comfortable navigating through it. "We were pushing our luck a bit with the roundabout at the Arc de Triomphe. At one point, there were cars everywhere. It was quite an adrenaline rush, but I don’t think I’ll try that again. It was fun, but a bit risky too," he said.
He even took a moment to connect with fans, responding warmly when someone shouted, "I love you!" as he rode by.
Now celebrating his 100th career title, Djokovic has his sights set on achieving a record 25th major tournament victory. "Seeing Paris from a bicycle is fantastic. You avoid the frustrations of traffic. It’s just a more delightful way to enjoy the city," he remarked.
As he balances competition and leisure, Djokovic continues to remind fans of the joy and excitement that both sports and simple pleasures can bring.
