Trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs Continues with Notable Testimonies
The trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs has wrapped up its second week, featuring testimonies from a range of witnesses, including his former assistant and family members of his ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura. Notably, rapper Kid Cudi also took the stand.
On Thursday, Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, shared details about his short relationship with Ventura during a difficult time in her on-and-off relationship with Combs.
Other witnesses included a makeup artist who had worked with both Combs and Ventura, as well as Combs’ former assistant, George Kaplan, who returned for a second day of testimony after his first appearance on Wednesday.
Next week, more witnesses are expected to take the stand. Capricorn Clark, a former assistant to Diddy, along with members of the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments, are among those set to testify.
During Kid Cudi’s testimony, he mentioned an incident from 2011 where he claims Combs broke into his home. He revealed that Clark had informed him she was waiting outside while Combs and another person were inside the house, noting that she seemed quite frightened at the time.
The trial is expected to continue after the long weekend, with Judge Arun Subramanian indicating that it should conclude by July 4. He reminded jurors to refrain from discussing the case over the break, even suggesting they catch a game to distract themselves.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to several serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.
