A recent court document filed by Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team argues that videos of supposed “freak offs” demonstrate that the interactions were consensual. They claim that the legal action against Combs is “sexist and puritanical.”
The defense is requesting that the government provide copies of the videos mentioned in the indictment against the music mogul, which prosecutors have referenced as evidence.
The filing notes, “There are no secret cameras, no orgies, no other celebrities involved, no underground tunnels, no minors, and not so much as a hint of coercion or violence.” It further asserts, “The videos depict adults engaging in consensual sex, plain and simple.”
Combs is currently facing serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, following an indictment in September 2024. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges.
The allegations focus on the so-called “freak offs,” which prosecutors claim were “elaborate and produced sex performances” that Combs allegedly pressured others to join. They maintain that these events involved male sex workers and women who were coerced into participating.
The defense counters that there was no coercion and emphasizes that the sexual encounters were recorded with consent. They also argue that the prosecution’s claims are sexist, suggesting that the narrative reinforces harmful stereotypes about women’s victimhood and autonomy.
Diddy is currently in jail in Brooklyn after a judge denied him bail, citing fears that he might influence witnesses. His trial is set to take place in May.
