Sean “Diddy” Combs Faces Sentencing After Conviction
Sean “Diddy” Combs is preparing for his future after being found guilty of two counts related to prostitution. His lawyers expect he could be sentenced to around two years in prison, a significant reduction compared to the 51 to 63 months that prosecutors are seeking.
On July 2, Combs was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. However, he was convicted on charges linked to prostitution. Throughout the legal proceedings, Combs denied allegations of sex trafficking his former girlfriends, claiming that any sexual activities were consensual.
His defense team has now requested a $1 million bond for his release, which would be co-signed by family members. They assured the judge that Combs will refrain from contacting escorts or engaging in any illegal activities if released.
However, prosecutors argue that he poses a risk to the community, citing prior violent incidents and his possession of drugs linked to illegal activities when he was arrested. Despite this, Combs’ lawyers challenged the claim that he is still a danger, stating that he had not attempted to arrange any meetings with escorts while under surveillance.
Combs, who has already spent ten months in custody, faces a potential sentence of up to 20 years—10 years for each count related to transportation for prostitution. A hearing regarding the bond will take place soon, determining whether he will be released as he awaits sentencing.
