A former law enforcement officer in Georgia is facing serious charges after being accused of child molestation.
Rylee Willis, who is 21 years old and used to work as a deputy for the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested on Thursday, January 8th.
The police say that on Monday, January 5th, a mother contacted the Gwinnett County Police Department about some concerning messages she found between her 16-year-old daughter and an adult man. The police identified the man as Willis.
Willis has been charged with two counts of child molestation and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
He is currently being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bail. The police are still investigating the case.
At the time of his arrest, Willis was a new employee for the Sheriff’s Office, still in a trial period. He has since been fired from his job.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that they expect their employees to act with the highest level of professionalism and responsibility.
