Delilah Hamlin, daughter of actress Lisa Rinna, has been open about her years-long struggle with health issues. For a long time, doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Now, at 27, she’s sharing her story about finally getting a diagnosis of endometriosis and how it affected her life.
Endometriosis is when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, causing pain and other problems. For Hamlin, this meant years of painful periods and, eventually, seizures. She says she had to do her own research to push doctors to take her seriously.
“I had really painful periods,” Hamlin said, noting that multiple gynecologists didn’t mention endometriosis. She learned about it from social media and realized her symptoms matched. Before the endometriosis diagnosis, she was diagnosed with PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder).
The pain was so bad that she sometimes had to leave class in high school. She also had seizures, which she says happened more often around her period.
Because of the seizures, Hamlin decided to stop drinking alcohol in 2021. She explained that she had been struggling with anxiety and depression and was trying to find the cause of her problems.
After undergoing surgery for endometriosis, Hamlin found relief from her symptoms, including the seizures. She’s grateful to finally have answers and to know that there’s a solution.
Even after the surgery, Hamlin experienced seizures while filming a music video in 2023. It was a setback, but she had her loved ones around her for support.
In the past, Hamlin has also talked about other health challenges, including Lyme disease and accidentally overdosing on prescription pills. She hopes that by sharing her story, she can help other women who are facing similar struggles to advocate for their health and not give up on finding answers.
