Deion Sanders Shares Positive Update Amid Health Concerns
DENVER — Deion Sanders took to social media on Wednesday to reassure fans that “everything is OKAY” despite not attending football camps in Boulder, Colorado, this spring.
Concerns about the Colorado coach’s health have arisen due to his absence. In his post on X, Sanders expressed gratitude for the outpouring of well-wishes, stating, “I’m truly blessed for all the thoughts and prayers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!” He later conveyed his eagerness to return to Colorado and work with his staff, team, and everyone involved in the program. He concluded his message with a spirited, "I’M COMING BABY, #CoachPrime."
Although the school did not comment on his absence, reports suggest that Sanders has been facing health challenges. His son, Deion Sanders Jr., mentioned in a YouTube livestream that his father is currently at home in Texas and “feeling well.”
At 57, Sanders has dealt with serious health issues, including the amputation of two toes in 2021 due to blood clots. He also missed media day in 2023 after undergoing procedures to manage blood clots in his right leg and to straighten his left foot.
As part of a contract extension signed in March, Sanders is expected to conduct at least three on-campus football camps. The Colorado Buffaloes are set to kick off Year 3 under Sanders on August 29 against Georgia Tech at Folsom Field.
