David Lee Roth Makes Rare Appearance in Los Angeles
On June 26, rock icon David Lee Roth was seen in Los Angeles, showcasing a casual look—wearing brown Carhartt overalls, a matching work jacket, and cowboy boots. The legendary frontman of Van Halen, who has been known for his flamboyant stage presence, opted for a tan baseball cap and a colorful bandana around his neck during this low-profile outing.
This appearance comes just a couple of months after Roth made waves by performing his first solo concert in five years at the M3 Rock Festival in Maryland on May 3. The setlist for that night was a tribute to his Van Halen roots, featuring classic hits.
On the same day, Roth surprised fans by announcing a summer tour, which will kick off on July 22 in Paso Robles, California, and will conclude in Napa, California, on September 14. The tour will make stops in several states, including Florida, New York, Ohio, and Arizona, allowing fans across the country to enjoy his music.
Reflecting on his career, Roth had previously announced two years ago his intentions to retire, stating that he would close this chapter with five final shows at the House of Blues in Las Vegas in January 2022. At that time, he expressed, “I am throwing in the shoes. I’m retiring,” indicating a clear farewell to life on the road.
Yet, despite his announcement, Roth’s love for music has brought him back. In 2022, he even released updated versions of some beloved Van Halen tracks. During his recent concert, he humorously referenced his retirement, joking about the numerous comebacks of a famous film character: “How many retirements did Rocky have, nine?”
Fans are eagerly awaiting his upcoming tour, wondering what other surprises Roth may have in store. With his enduring charm and musical talent, he shows no signs of stepping away from the stage anytime soon.
