Rock Musician Dave Edmunds Recovering After Cardiac Arrest
Rock musician Dave Edmunds is on the path to recovery following a serious cardiac arrest that occurred in late July. His wife, Cici Edmunds, shared a positive update, confirming that he has survived and is being cared for.
Cici, who has been married to Dave for 40 years, took to social media to express her thanks for the support they’ve received. She shared a post from Carlene Carter, daughter of country legends June Carter Cash and Carl Smith, who noted that Dave is expected to make a full recovery and will soon be discharged from the hospital.
Cici’s heartfelt message highlighted her gratitude, saying, “Bless you sweet, beautiful Carlene for sharing the positive news regarding my amazing husband’s miraculous recovery.” She added, “Sending you much love and light your way always.”
In her original post, Carter included a nostalgic photo of herself with Dave and shared, “Some really great news we all have been waiting for…” confirming that the music community is eager to see Dave back on his feet.
The cardiac arrest incident was shocking for Cici, who revealed that Dave “died in my arms” before being revived by a nurse using CPR. She mentioned feeling a mix of emotions, describing the experience as traumatic.
After the event, Dave was placed in intensive care and intubated. Cici noted that he suffered from some memory loss and brain damage. Despite these challenges, she remains hopeful, saying that they have a long journey ahead but are comforted by the kindness shown by friends and fans.
Dave Edmunds, known for his contributions to rock music since the 1960s, achieved fame with his band Love Sculpture and later with Rockpile. He has a successful solo career, with hits that have made a significant mark in music history.
