A Florida woman, Christina Anne Adams, has been sentenced to two life terms for the murder of her father and the attempted murder of her mother. The sentencing took place on April 16, 2023, after an incident that occurred on September 16, 2022, in Ocala. During this tragic event, Adams, 33, attacked her parents after they informed her that she needed to move out of their home.
The attack resulted in serious injuries to both parents; her father, 74-year-old Richard Langer, succumbed to his wounds, while her mother, Sally Langer, survived. Initially, Adams left the scene believing both parents were dead and went shopping instead.
According to the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, jurors took only a short time to find Adams guilty of premeditated murder and attempted murder using a deadly weapon. The investigation revealed that Richard Langer had called for help after being attacked and was able to identify Adams as the attacker before he passed away.
Authorities found Adams shortly after the stabbing while she was with her wife. Initially, Adams denied any involvement in the attack, but inconsistencies in her story led her to eventually confess. She admitted to becoming angry after being asked to leave the house, which prompted her to grab a knife and stab both parents multiple times.
Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods described the violence as shocking and senseless, praising the rapid response of his deputies and detectives who helped the victims and apprehended Adams.
