The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been announced, showcasing a remarkable lineup of music legends. On Sunday, April 27, during the popular show American Idol, host Ryan Seacrest revealed that seven iconic artists will be honored this year.
The esteemed inductees include Bad Company, Chubby Checker, the late Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast, Soundgarden, and the White Stripes. This year marks a significant moment as Bad Company, Chubby Checker, and OutKast received nominations for the first time, making their inclusion even more thrilling for fans.
The announcement took place during a special episode of American Idol, where 14 contestants performed beloved songs from past inductees, allowing viewers to vote for their favorites.
In addition to the performers, Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon will be honored with the Musical Influence Award, recognizing their significant impact on music and culture. The Musical Excellence Award will go to Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye for their originality and influence in the industry. Lenny Waronker will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award, honoring professionals who have greatly shaped the development of rock music.
John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, expressed the importance of the inductees, stating that each artist has left a lasting impact on culture and has inspired future generations. To be eligible for induction, artists must have released their first commercial music at least 25 years ago.
Other nominees this year included the Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Maná, Oasis, and Phish.
The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will take place live on Saturday, November 8, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with streaming available on Disney+. A special about this year’s inductees will also air on ABC and be available on Hulu the next day.
