Iranians Rally for Freedom in Munich, Echoing Calls for Change
MUNICH, Germany – Supporters of Iran’s Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi gathered in Munich on Saturday to voice their desire for a new government in Iran. The demonstration took place alongside a meeting of global leaders, with the protesters hoping to increase international attention on the situation in their homeland.
The large crowd chanted slogans and waved flags that were used in Iran before the 1979 revolution. Some demonstrators wore hats similar to those worn by supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump, showing their support for a stronger Iran.
Prince Pahlavi, who has been in exile for many years, is seeking to play a role in Iran’s future. Protesters voiced their support for him and for the establishment of a democratic government in Iran.
The demonstration follows earlier protests in Munich by those opposing the current Iranian regime. Critics say the government in Iran has responded to protests with deadly force.
Pahlavi spoke at a news conference, urging world leaders to take action and support the Iranian people. He argued that the current government’s actions send a dangerous message to oppressive regimes everywhere.
The U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency estimates that thousands have been killed in the recent protests, while the Iranian government has reported a much lower number. Access to information within Iran remains limited.
