A scary scene unfolded in California when a car crash led to the discovery of a one-year-old baby left alone at the site.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) shared that after a car accident, the driver took off, leaving the young child behind. Thankfully, officers found the baby and reported that the child is expected to recover.
Police arrested a woman in connection with the incident. The CHP said that she was found walking along Interstate 580 after leaving the crash scene.
The CHP Facebook post expressed sadness that a one-year-old was abandoned. After questioning the woman, officers went back to the crash site and found the injured child.
Authorities are using this incident to remind everyone about the dangers of driving under the influence. They stated that driving while impaired, whether by alcohol, drugs, or medications, can seriously affect judgment and endanger lives.
