ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys are determined to turn their season around and secure a spot in the playoffs. Following a strong win over the Kansas City Chiefs, confidence is high in the locker room.
Quarterback Dak Prescott threw two touchdown passes and running back Malik Davis had a standout moment with a 43-yard sprint for a score. The Cowboys managed to fend off a late push from the Chiefs, ultimately winning 31-28 on Thanksgiving Day.
Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who faced criticism after recent drops, came back strong, catching seven passes for 112 yards, including the team’s first touchdown. This victory over last year’s Super Bowl runner-up comes just days after the Cowboys beat the reigning champions, lifting their record to 6-5-1 with three consecutive wins.
The Cowboys have shown remarkable resolve, especially following the tragic death of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, which weighed heavily on the team. Prescott reflected on their journey, noting the significance of beating two high-caliber teams within such a short span.
On the other side, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw four touchdown passes but acknowledged his team struggled to maintain consistency throughout the game. He pointed out that the Chiefs were also desperate for a win, reflecting the tight race for playoff positions.
Despite a solid effort from Mahomes, the Chiefs fell to a disappointing 6-6 record, marred by penalties that cost them crucial yardage. Chiefs coach Andy Reid emphasized the need to clean up these mistakes as they move forward.
Davis’s impressive running and Prescott’s timely throws, especially during critical moments, underscored the Cowboys’ growing confidence as they chase postseason dreams. They face a tough road ahead but remain focused on maintaining their momentum.
Next up for the Cowboys is a challenging matchup against the Detroit Lions, while the Chiefs prepare to host the Houston Texans on December 7.
