“Full House” Star Dave Coulier Shares Cancer Battle, Advocates for Early Detection
Actor Dave Coulier, best known for his role on the family-friendly sitcom “Full House,” has recently shared his personal battle with cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and regular check-ups.
Coulier revealed that he is currently in remission after being diagnosed with two separate cancers over the past couple of years. The 66-year-old underwent 35 rounds of radiation treatment to combat the diseases.
Despite the challenges, Coulier maintains a positive outlook. He shared his story with the hope of encouraging others to take their health seriously. “I never wanted to be the poster boy for cancer, believe me,” Coulier said. “But now I feel like I can encourage people to get those prostate exams and mammograms. Talk to your doctors and get ahead of this.”
Coulier was first diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Further tests revealed a second, unrelated cancer. Coulier expressed gratitude for the early detection, emphasizing that it could have been much worse if it had gone unnoticed.
Coulier credits his faith, family, and friends with helping him through this difficult period. He specifically mentioned his “Full House” co-star John Stamos, who provided support and humor during his treatment.
Coulier’s story serves as a reminder to prioritize our health and well-being. Regular medical check-ups and early detection are crucial in fighting cancer.
