Cote de Pablo Remembers Heartfelt Goodbye to Michael Weatherly on NCIS
Cote de Pablo shared her emotional farewell with co-star Michael Weatherly when she left the popular series “NCIS” in 2013. The actress, known for her role as Special Agent Ziva David, reflected on that day during a recent screening event for their new show, “NCIS: Tony & Ziva,” which will air on Paramount+.
Cote joined “NCIS” in 2005 and quickly became a key member of the cast, engaging in a dynamic and sometimes flirtatious relationship with Weatherly’s character, Tony DiNozzo. Although she exited the show in 2013, she made a brief comeback in 2019.
Now, the two are reuniting in “NCIS: Tony & Ziva,” which features their characters navigating a dangerous situation in Europe as they work to protect themselves and their daughter from a looming threat.
At the New York City event, Cote revealed that saying goodbye to Weatherly was a deeply emotional moment. “It was a really sad day,” she admitted. Reflecting on their last scene together, she recalled heartfelt sentiments exchanged and a poignant photograph taken as they walked back to their trailer, where they held hands.
Cote expressed gratitude for Weatherly’s partnership, saying he had been a great friend and teacher throughout their time together. She left the show feeling that her character deserved better treatment, which ultimately influenced her decision to move on.
As the beloved series prepares for its 23rd season, it remains a staple in fans’ hearts. With the new spin-off premiering soon, viewers are eager to see how Tony and Ziva rebuild their relationship. The show promises an action-packed adventure while allowing these two fan-favorite characters to reconnect in a significant way.
