Chief Justice Roberts Affirms Constitution’s Strength
Washington D.C. – Chief Justice John Roberts has reaffirmed his belief in the enduring strength of the Constitution. In his annual letter to the judiciary, Roberts echoed sentiments from President Calvin Coolidge, stating the nation’s founding documents remain “firm and unshaken.”
His message follows a year marked by political divisions, where some questioned the balance of power. Roberts emphasized the importance of judges upholding their oath, deciding cases impartially under the Constitution.
The Supreme Court, with its conservative majority, has seen several of President Trump’s policies move forward, including those related to military service and immigration. The court also ruled against the administration in some cases.
Looking ahead, the court is expected to address important questions in the coming year. Roberts’ letter emphasized the historical foundation of American governance, referencing both Thomas Paine and Calvin Coolidge, reminding us to find guidance in the Constitution.
