A conservative advocacy group has reached out to Pam Bondi, President-elect Trump’s nominee for Attorney General, urging her to dismiss several employees from the Department of Justice (DOJ). The group claims these individuals are aligned with “woke radical leftist” ideologies and are not suitable for executing Trump’s policy agenda.
In their correspondence, the American Accountability Foundation (AAF) expressed concerns about the Voting Section within the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division. They accuse these employees of promoting progressive values, including issues related to transgender rights, and being linked to donations for left-wing politicians and organizations. This division is crucial as it enforces federal voting rights.
Thomas Jones, President of the AAF, stated, “These individuals have no place in the Department of Justice. To regain the trust of the American people in our electoral process, they should be removed and replaced with attorneys who prioritize America-first policies.”
The letter specifically highlights several staff members: Janie Sitton, Catherine Meza, Daniel Freeman, John “Bert” Russ IV, and Dana Paikowsky. The AAF plans to reveal more about what they consider problematic personnel in future communications.
Sitton has come under fire for her advocacy of transgender issues, including a controversial article she wrote that called for major changes in how laws are understood in relation to gender.
Paikowsky has been criticized for her history of supporting far-left political initiatives, including promoting voting rights for incarcerated individuals. Her past affiliations with organizations tied to billionaire George Soros have also raised eyebrows.
In addition, the group pointed out Meza’s previous role with the NAACP where she supported gun control and made claims about voter intimidation related to mask mandates during the pandemic.
Russ was mentioned for his involvement in a complaint against Georgia’s measures designed to secure election integrity, which the AAF argues were dismissed as racially motivated.
The AAF’s push aligns with their broader goal of reshaping the federal workforce under the upcoming Trump administration. They have previously compiled lists of federal officials they deem “woke” and call for their removal to ensure a government that represents conservative values.
