Colorado’s Unique Touch for Coach Deion Sanders at Season Opener
Boulder, Colorado – In a bold move to showcase innovation in college sports marketing, the University of Colorado has introduced a branded sideline bathroom for head coach Deion Sanders during the team’s opening game against Georgia Tech. The night’s sponsor? Depend undergarments.
This initiative goes beyond mere humor; it addresses a serious health concern. Coach Sanders, who is battling bladder cancer, requires frequent restroom access during games. The portable privacy tent is conveniently placed close to the Buffaloes’ bench, ensuring he can takecare of his needs without missing a beat.
Recently, Sanders shared his reliance on Depend products through social media, emphasizing the importance of health without shame. He expressed, “I truly DEPEND on Depend. There’s NO SHAME in taking care of yourself or needing added protection. That’s not weakness — that’s WINNING.” Depend responded positively, stating they are “proud to help you stay in the game, Coach Prime.”
This will be Sanders’ third season leading the Buffaloes, although it marks the first without his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, who played key roles on the team. Last season, the Buffaloes finished strong with a record of 9-4.
The matchup against Georgia Tech is historic, as it’s the first time the two teams have met on the football field. Colorado and Georgia Tech are connected through their shared national title from the 1990 season. In tribute to the late coach Bill McCartney, who passed away in January at 84, the Buffaloes will wear a patch on their uniforms honoring his legacy.
As Coach Sanders continues to navigate both his health challenges and his team’s journey, it’s clear that his spirit and commitment to the game remain as strong as ever.
