Chris O’Donnell is set to join the exciting world of the “9-1-1” franchise with his new role in the upcoming spinoff, “9-1-1: Nashville.” The announcement confirmed that O’Donnell will play Capt. Don Sharpe, a fire captain known for his rugged personality and his passion for rodeo, who manages the busiest firehouse in Nashville alongside his son. This character is described as not only a dedicated family man but also someone with hidden secrets.
O’Donnell’s experience as a lead actor is well established, having starred as Special Agent G. Callen in “NCIS: Los Angeles” for 14 seasons. He’s also recognized for roles in notable films such as “Batman Forever,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Scent of a Woman.”
The spinoff was announced recently and is scheduled to premiere during the 2025-26 TV season. It will be produced by Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear, the creators behind the original “9-1-1” series. The team also includes executive producers who have worked on the franchise for years.
This new project comes after the cancellation of “9-1-1: Lone Star,” starring Rob Lowe, which ran for five seasons. The decision to cancel was attributed to financial issues, a struggle that the network decided it could not overcome.
Meanwhile, the original “9-1-1” series is currently airing its eighth season, featuring well-known actors such as Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. This show continues to receive attention and praise for its gripping storylines and character development, keeping viewers engaged every Thursday night.
