Chloe Kitts, a forward for the South Carolina Gamecocks, is set to return to the court after missing the last game due to an academic suspension. Coach Dawn Staley confirmed that Kitts and the rest of the team will be ready for their home opener against Coppin State on Thursday night.
Last Sunday, Kitts was sidelined during the Gamecocks’ 71-57 win against N.C. State, which was ranked ninth at the time. The team indicated that her absence was due to an “academic policy issue.” Despite this setback, Staley expressed pride in Kitts’ progress both on and off the court, highlighting the strides she has made in her athletic and academic work.
At 6 feet 2 inches tall, Kitts is a junior from Oviedo, Florida. Last season, she contributed significantly to South Carolina’s perfect 38-0 record by averaging 9.1 points and 5.9 rebounds.
