Chapin Community Celebrates Young Writers from Chapin Elementary
CHAPIN, S.C. – The Chapin community came together to honor young writers from Chapin Elementary at a special event held at town hall, as highlighted by the school district.
On Thursday, November 7, students, families, and other members of the community gathered to celebrate the writing achievements of fourth-grade students from Chapin Elementary.
The event, known as Chapin’s Voices Community Writer’s Workshop, featured various stations showcasing the writing journey of the students, from their initial ideas to their polished final drafts.
“This is just the kind of project we support,” said Teresa Randolph, Executive Director of Team Landolph and a former teacher with School District Five.
According to school district officials, attendees had fun participating in interactive writing challenges and were able to leave encouraging feedback on personal narrative stories displayed during the event. There were also collaborative tables where participants could read stories and share new ideas for future writing projects.
This workshop was part of a bigger initiative led by fourth-grade teachers Jennifer Layton and Nora Congialdi. They aimed to inspire their students and give them a meaningful platform to share their stories, as stated in a district press release.
“We want to nurture community leaders through student-driven projects that connect and enhance our community. The brave students who shared their stories and the dedicated teachers who supported them truly deserve this celebration,” Randolph added.
