CAYCE, S.C. – Exciting news for the community! Leaders in Cayce have announced a new multi-million dollar project that will enhance local recreation and celebrate the area’s rich history.
On Tuesday, November 12, they unveiled plans for the ’12 Thousand Year History Park,’ which will be located on Fort Congaree Trail. This park is expected to have a visitor’s center and is being funded through a generous donation from the Boyd family, along with support from the General Assembly.
Mayor Elise Partin expressed her enthusiasm, stating that the park will serve as a recreational space while also honoring a site where it is believed that people have lived for over 12,000 years.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the park is anticipated to take place in the new year, with the project expected to take around a year to finish. Residents are looking forward to this new addition to their community!
